If you have the above, your eligibility to work within the United Kingdom can be seen on your Visa Decision letter. You can gain information on either your clearance vignetter (visa sticker in passport) and/or your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card.
What you will need to provide to Clipper to confirm your eligibility to work full time on a student visa or being a full-time student:
Print out from the University’s confirming semester dates for employment.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)/ Student Status Letter/ Certificate of Matriculation that confirms your programme Start and End Date (not estimated or guideline to semesters.
If you have completed your course then we would require a course completion letter.
Student or Tier 4 Student Visa holder (cannot work as self-employed)
Week defined as a 7-day period beginning on Monday and ending on Sunday
Maximum 20 hours in a week during term times if you are studying full time at degree level or above.
Maximum 10 hours in a week during term times if you are full time below degree level.
Full time during vacation periods and after your official course end date.
Undergraduate students and Post Graduate Students
During term time you can work up to 20 hours (maximum) per week.
During Vacation Periods you can work full-time.
You can work full-time after your programme end date (as confirmed on your student record).
Post Graduate Students:
During term time you can work up to 20 hours (maximum) per week.
During Winter and Spring vacation periods can be worked full-time.
Masters’ students do not have summer vacations*. Term time conditions apply during the summer term (dissertation period). You can only work full-time after your course end date on your Student Record.
You can work full time after you finish your course, make sure to see the end date of your student visa and have no further engagement or attendance required that year.
It’s worth noting that student visas are only valid for 2 to 4 months after completion of study.
*If you are doing a 2 year postgraduate programme you may have a summer vacation period between years, please check with your University for specific dates and be able to provide them to your employer with confirmation of term times.
